Bear Adventures are organized group outings to outdoor recreation activities and attractions around the St. Louis region. Trips typically span 3-6 hours and require a modest registration fee. Trips are only available to students, and transportation is provided.
Lewis and Clark Trail/Clark Trail Loop Hike
Description: This 5.3 mile route offers stunning views of the Missouri river, beautiful rocky bluffs, and the chance to spot wildlife. The highlight of the trail is the section alongside the river, which boasts several lookout points with benches nearby. The trail is very well maintained, with a few steep inclines and hills that are definitely worth the effort.

Yoga & Apple Picking at Eckert's Farm
Description: Combine mindful movement with seasonal harvest fun on our Bear Adventure: Yoga & Apple Picking at Eckert's Farm! Start your day with a refreshing yoga session surrounded by beautiful farmland, then enjoy the quintessential fall experience of picking fresh apples at one of the region's most beloved family farms. Our adventure takes us to Eckert's Belleville Farm, established in 1910 and featuring pick-your-own fruit orchards with family entertainment, country store, and country-style restaurant. September is prime apple-picking season, offering the perfect opportunity to connect with nature through yoga and harvest your own fresh apples.

Huzzah River Kayaking
Description: Enjoy the clear, spring-fed beauty of the Huzzah River on this 6-mile adventure. The kayaks are stable and speedy, ideal for both novices and seasoned paddlers. Kayaking on the Huzzah provides an invigorating way to navigate the river and enjoy the natural landscape.

Sandstone Canyon Trail Hike *Fall Break Trip
Description: The 4.2 mile Sandstone Canyon Trail lets hikers explore the eastern half of Don Robinson State Park and its many natural features - from lush mesic bottoms to dry uplands. The trail follows the upper edge of a sandstone canyon, one of the features unique to the LaBarque Creek Watershed. The trail also leads hikers through dry woodlands containing gnarly chinquapin oak trees. Hikers can experience a dramatic elevation change of 270 feet from 550 feet in the valley to 820 feet near the hilltops.

Description: Join us for our latest Bear Adventure at Chicken N Pickle in St. Charles! Designed specifically for grad and professional students, this event is your chance to unwind, enjoy delicious food and drinks, play some pickleball, and challenge your friends to outdoor yard games. Optional transportation will be provided. See you on the courts!
