Incident #1: Disciplinary Meeting with Professional Staff - Potential Suspension of Facility Privileges
If a recreational user is not complying with facility policies and has demonstrated a repeated pattern of similar behavior after being approached by a member of our staff, an in-person meeting will be scheduled with the user and at least one member of our professional staff to educate them on facility policies.  This will be documented via email.
The Office of Recreation reserves the right to temporarily suspend the facility privileges of this individual for a brief period of time based on our discretion (typically 1-14 days).

Incident #2: Disciplinary Meeting with Senior Associate Athletic Director Temporary Suspension of Facility Privileges
If the recreational user continues non-compliant facility behavior, a second in-person meeting will be held between the user and the Senior Associate Athletic Director.  This will be documented via email.
The Office of Recreation reserves the right to temporarily suspend the facility privileges of this individual for a period of time based on our discretion (typically 7-30 days).

Incident #3: Extended or Permanent Suspension/Revocation of Facility Privileges – Referral to the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards
If, after two in-person meetings, the recreational user continues to ignore facility policies, the Director of Recreation will notify the user via both phone call and email that they have lost facility privileges for a period of time based on our discretion (typically 30 days - Membership Revocation).  The Director of Recreation will also refer the series of incidents to the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards.

Utilizing Activity Spaces Outside of Posted Hours
For safety and security purposes, Recreational members utilizing the recreation facilities outside of posted hours will have a membership suspension based on the following infraction schedule:
1st Offense: 7 days
2nd Offense: 30 days
3rd Offense: Remainder of Academic Year (no fewer than 90 days or suspension carried into next year)

Providing Unauthorized Facility Access
For safety, security, and equity purposes, Recreational members found letting non-members, or those individuals without swipe card access, into the facility through access points other than the Sumers Recreation Center main entrance will have their membership suspended based on the following infraction schedule:
1st Offense: 7 days
2nd Offense: 30 days
3rd Offense: Remainder of Academic Year (no fewer than 90 days or suspension carried into next year)

Non-member individuals who gain access to the recreational facilities through an access point other than the Sumers Recreation Center main entrance will be asked to leave the facility.  They may have the option to purchase a guest pass if they are sponsored by a current WashU Rec member and follow requisite policies.  If an individual is found to have multiple unauthorized access offenses, Washington University Public Safety may be called to remove the individual from the facilities and a Do Not Trespass order may be filed for that individual.

Intramural Sports Conduct Policy
Intramural sports has a conduct policy in addition to the facility disciplinary policy. It should be noted that any suspension from the facility will equal a suspension from Intramural Sports and a suspension from Intramural Sports may also result in a facility suspension. The full policy can be read here. (DOCX)
