Men's Cross Country

No. 13 WashU Men's Cross Country Competes at McNichols Invite

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The No. 13 Washington University in St. Louis men's team ran at Indiana State's John McNichols Invite on Saturday morning.
 
The day featured a championship race and open race, both 8,000m, featuring largely Division I runners.
 
Champions 8,000m
Sophomore Charlie Houck was the top Bears' finisher, coming in 139th with a time of 25:24.0. Sophomore Max Sudrzynski was not far behind in 142nd, posting a time of 25:24.7.
 
Sophomore Gavin O'Connor ran a time of 26:08.5 for 183rd and junior Ben Lorenz ran a time of 26:11.5 for 188th.
 
Also running in the championship race was junior Will Ruszkowski (26:29.6), junior Sean Green (26:38.1), sophomore Rishi Shadaksharappa (27:39.7) and senior Will Liu (27:48.5).
 
Open 8,000m
First-year Brody Cushing posted the top open time for the Bears, finished 42nd in 26:47.4. Junior Ryan Brink posted a time of 26:48.6 for 45th and first-year Lukas Keane ran a time of 27:06.9 for 56th.
 
Also running for the Bears was senior Kaleb McElfish (27:10.5), first-year Riley Wold (27:13.0), first-year Grey Donner (27:14.2), senior Calvin Crossland (27:44.8), sophomore Dominic Buckman (27:45.5), junior Caleb Brox (27:45.7), sophomore Mateo Gros-Slovinsky (27:46.7), first-year Ryan Lien (27:46.7), first-year Brandon Sun (28:13.0), sophomore Ilan Sherman-Kadish (28:15.1), senior Russell Kramer (28:16.0), sophomore Bankson Roach (28:25.5) and sophomore Charlie Gatz (28:25.6).
 
The Bears are back in action on Saturday, October 3 at the Running of the Cows (pre-nationals championship) hosted by Carleton.
