ST. LOUIS, Mo. - In February, Washington University in St. Louis celebrates Black History Month and invites the community to honor and recognize the essential contributions and rich cultural heritage of African-Americans. This month-long celebration is part of our long-standing tradition of commemorating Black history, achievements, and the continuous journey toward equality and justice.
Throughout February, WashU will host a series of events, lectures, and activities designed to educate, inspire, and bring our community together in reflection and dialogue. These events aim to honor the triumphs and struggles that have shaped the African-American experience and to foster a greater understanding of the pivotal roles Black individuals have played in shaping our society. Here are some highlighted events:
- Feb. 13, 3:30-5:50 p.m. 4the Ville Buss Tour-The Story of Black St. Louis
- Feb. 21, 7:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.: Kansas City Day Trip-Negro Leagues Baseball Museum
- Feb. 25, 7:00-8:30 p.m.: Black History Month Scholar-Athlete Panel with WashU Athletics
- Feb. 26, 5:00-8:00 p.m.: Black History Month Food Truck Festival with Dining Services
