Wolford Earns First Team Academic All-America

AUSTIN, Texas
– Washington University in St. Louis swimming and diving graduate student Kyle Wolford has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America First Team, the organization announced on Wednesday.
 
Wolford graduated in May 2024 with his bachelor's in computer science and is currently wrapping up his master's degree in computer science.
 
In March, Wolford won the national title in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:44.15, becoming the 27th student-athlete to win a national title in WashU history. Wolford came in third in the event in 2024.
 
Additionally, Wolford reached All-America status this season in the 100 backstroke (3rd), 400 freestyle relay (8th), 200 medley relay (8th) and the 400 medley relay (12th).
 
In total, WashU now has 228 Academic All-Americans and men's swimming and diving has eight as a program.
