Kuo 3-Peats as UAA Player of the Year

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – For the third-consecutive year, junior Sydney Kuo has been named women's golf UAA Player of the Year, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Kuo is the lone golfer in conference and program history to receive this honor three times. She also picked up a first team nod.

Additionally, first-year Amy Beanblossom was named to the second team.

Kuo has been the top golfer for the Bears since coming to the Danforth Campus three years ago. Last year as a sophomore, she was named PING WGCA Player of the Year, received First Team All-American and First Team All-region honors and was a DIII Honda Athlete of the Year finalist.

This season, Kuo won the WashU Invite in the spring and the Golfweek October Classic in the fall. On Monday, it was announced that Kuo was one of the individuals selected to participate at the NCAA Division III National Champion.

Kuo was named UAA Athlete of the Week on April 8 and twice during the fall, on September 18 and October 23.

Beanblossom has proven to be a staple in the Bears' lineup in her first year, finishing second at Millikin's Take Back the Night Challenge. A highlight of her season came at that very tournament, as she landed a hole-in-one on the second hole, shooting the 138-yard shot with an eight iron. Following that, she was named UAA Athlete of the Week.

Kuo will head to Nicholasville, Ky. next week as the Division III Women's Golf Championship spans May 21-24.
