Altamonte Springs, Fla. – The No. 3 Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team finished second at the UAA Championships after falling to No. 1 Case Western Reserve University 5-1 in the final match.
The Bears lone win of the day came at third doubles as
Colin Scruggs and
Matias Maule defeated Sahil Dayal and Ansh Shah 8-4.
Phuc Huynh and
Abhi Ramireddy lost to Vishwa Aduru and James Hoppers 8-5 at first doubles while
Gaurav Singh and
Scott Yamamoto fell to Diego Maza and Chris Provenzano 8-6 at second doubles.
Huynh lost to Hopper 6-2, 6-4 at first singles while Ramireddy fell to Aduru 6-2, 7-5 at second singles. Scruggs lost to Ajay Mahenthiran 6-4, 6-4 at fifth singles.
Jared Phillips match at third singles against Michael Sutanto, Singh's match against Shah at fourth singles and
Eric Kuo's match against Casey Hishinuma at sixth singles went unfinished as CWRU clinched the match.
