Chris Peacock enters his sixth year as Deputy Director of Athletics at Washington University in St. Louis. He also spent six months as the Interim Director of Athletics from January-June 2017. He arrived on the Danforth Campus after spending 11 years as an Assistant Athletic Director at the University of Illinois.
Peacock coordinates recruiting, academic and compliance matters for the Department of Athletics, in addition to providing administrative oversight for six sport programs – baseball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming & diving and men's tennis. He also oversees Sports Performance and the Equipment Room.
He served as the Assistant Athletics Director in the Office of Athletic Development, a position he held since 2009. In that role, Peacock was responsible for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors throughout the state of Illinois as well as St. Louis, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. He also oversaw the department's Gift-in-Kind and Fighting Illini Jet programs.
Peacock joined the Illinois staff in 2003 as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, before transitioning to development in 2009. He also had stints as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Administrative Services at the University of Toledo (1997-2003), Director of Compliance and Student Services at Towson University (1995-97) and Assistant Director of Compliance at the University of Cincinnati (1994-95).
Peacock earned his bachelor's degree in business from Miami University (Ohio) in 1990 and his master's degree in sports management from the University of Massachusetts in 1995.
Peacock and his wife, Marianne, have two children: Grace and Will. Grace is a member of the class of 2020 at WashU, while Will is a freshman at Miami University (Ohio).
