Alicia Watson

Alicia Watson was announced as an assistant sports performance coach on March 5, 2018.

A native of Kansas City, Watson arrived on the Danforth Campus after spending three years as assistant sports performance coach at Saint Louis University.

Watson came to SLU from Lindenwood University, where she served as a graduate assistant in strength and conditioning. Prior to her appointment at Lindenwood, Watson served as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the spring and summer semesters in 2013.

During her time at Lindenwood, Watson received an NCAA Graduate Student Research Grant Award for a project titled, “Determining the Daily Caloric Needs of Female Athletes.”

Watson was a four-year libero/defensive specialist on the volleyball team at Division II Northwest Missouri State University and totaled 334 career digs.

She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in corporate recreation and wellness and a minor in coaching from Northwest Missouri State in 2012, and earned a master’s degree in human performance from Lindenwood in 2015.

Her certifications include Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association - Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC), National Strength & Conditioning Association- Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS),  Functional Movement Screen- Level 1, and First Aid/CPR/AED First Responder.

Watson was nominated to be the Vice Chair on the Women's Committee for the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in August 2020 and has been serving as a volunteer on the Women's Committee since February 2018.
