Brandon Thompson enters his second season at Washington University in St. Louis as an assistant volleyball coach in 2018.
The Bears finished 2017 with a 24-10 overall record and earned their 31st consecutive berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament. WashU also had a pair of All-Americans in 2017, as Julianne Malek earned AVCA Third Team honors and Ifeoma Ufondu was recognized with honorable mention status. The selections marked the 32nd straight season the WashU volleyball program has had an individual highlighted with All-America honors.
Thompson joined the WashU volleyball staff after serving as an assistant coach with Millikin University from 2014-15. The Big Blue posted a record of 30-10 in his first season as an assistant.
Prior to coaching, Thompson played volleyball for the Lindenwood University Lions in 2011 and 2014.
The Alorton, Ill.-native works as a human resources coordinator at Royal Sonesta Chase Park Plaza and is an avid bowler with three perfect games to his credit.
