Women’s Golf Opens NCAA Championship Tuesday

Houston, Texas, May 13, 2019 – The No. 9-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team opens play at the 2019 NCAA Division III National Championship Tuesday at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston. 

The Bears tee off at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on hole 10, and are paired with No. 8 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges and No. 17 Washington & Lee University. 

WashU is making its eighth NCAA tournament appearance in program history, and first under head coach Mary Swanson. The Bears highest finished came in 2015 (third).

The Bears won their first four events of the 2018-19 season and finished the regular season with a scoring average of 308.18. 

WashU has two student-athletes ranked in the top-60: senior Chloe DiPetrillo (No. 46) and freshman Julia Dai (No. 55). Also competing for WashU will be freshman Lydia Tsai (No. 86), junior Emily Carnes and senior Sabrina Ho

The championships will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently. Following 54 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams to compete the final day.

WashU is scheduled to tee off Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
