Washington University has partnered with Stretch Internet to provide live streaming video and/or audio of home games for football, volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, swimming and diving, men’s and women’s basketball, track and field, softball and baseball games. The live video allows parents, friends and alumni to tune into home athletic contests at no cost.
The streaming for the 2016-17 season is paid for by a gift from Claire Halpern and Professor Michael Greenfield's generosity and support of the W Club.
Jay Murry, a familiar voice on the Washington University in St. Louis scene, returns for his eighth season as the voice of the Bears. Murry, a three-time NSSA Missouri Sportscaster of the Year, is in his second stint as the voice of the Bears after doing some work behind the microphone in the 1990s. He has handled play-by-play duties for the football and men’s and women’s basketball teams since 2009, and is in his second year doing PBP for men’s and women’s soccer and softball.
Throughout his tenure at WashU, Murry has provided the call for over 400 Bears games. Prior to his return to the Danforth Campus, Murry served for 14 years as the news and sports director of KWRE-AM/KFAV-FM in Warrenton, Mo., where he received broadcasting honors from the Missouri Associated Press and the Missouri Broadcasters Association.
