Washington University in St. Louis has had 20 student-athletes and three relay teams win a combined 29 individual NCAA Championships in their respective sports.

This year, the women's distance medley relay claimed a title at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships to help the Bears secure their first track & field team title in program history. The women also secured their first Outdoor Track & Field National Championship in 2017, while Rebecca Ridderhoff ran to a national title in the 400m hurdles. In addition, senior Deko Ricketts swept the indoor and outdoor 800m national titles. Sophomore Brandon Lum won the individual 200 butterfly title with a new NCAA Division III record time of 1:44.56 for the WashU men's swimming and diving team.
